Pool Plaster
Published: June 04, 2022
The condition of the pool is safe for Homeowners to enjoy. It may appear to be dirty, but after a recent attempt to acid wash the bottom of the pool to brighten the plaster for the current pool season, the result was less than desirable. We did not want to delay the opening of the pool indefinitely to make a repair that was aesthetic only. We have a plan to replaster after we close the pool at the conclusion of the 2022 swim season. Please see below for additional details.
• The pool is 14 years old and the average life span of plaster under normal wear & tear is 10-12 years. Verandah pool has had more than just normal wear and tear, so the life expectancy has outlasted the normal.
• The plaster has been fatigued for a couple years now, however, until more recently, the HOA never had enough funds to contemplate a replaster job.
• The HOA is making plans to budget for a replaster job in 2022-23 and will work on bidding out the project over the Summer.
• The pool company has assured us the pool is safe for use this summer, it just won’t be as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as one would hope or expect.
